ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to launch an immediate crackdown against illegal constructions in the capital.

The decision was made during an important meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Senior officials including Islamabad’s Chief Commissioner, IG Police, Deputy Commissioner, DIGs, SPs, and Assistant Commissioners attended the meeting. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and Federal Secretary for Interior were also present.

During the meeting, it was decided to take strict action against all illegal buildings and unapproved housing societies in Islamabad. The interior minister ordered operations against houses built without official approval.

Minister Naqvi directed officials to enforce a zero-tolerance policy. He said illegal constructions must be identified and stopped using satellite mapping under the Land Information and Management System (LIMS).

He added that providing top-quality services to citizens should be the top priority. “All efforts must be made to ensure the safety and security of the people,” he said.

The interior minister also urged SPs and ACs to perform their duties actively and improve the image of the police and administration. “This can only happen when citizens trust you,” he said.

He encouraged officials to introduce new initiatives for public convenience and assured full support from the government. “Work with full dedication and a national spirit to achieve the desired results,” he added.
