The TV report added that nominations for the four provincial High Courts have been requested by May 4. The appointment of permanent Chief Justices will involve considering the names of the three senior-most judges.

It should be noted that a judges’ seniority dispute in Islamabad High Court is under hearing in a constitutional bench. The bench, headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar, will hear the case on April 22.

This step is seen as important progress toward ensuring stable leadership in the judiciary, which will help the judicial system work more effectively.
