ISLAMABAD: Nineteen names have been proposed for the appointment of four additional judges to the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The list has been sent to the Judicial Commission of Pakistan for consideration.
The proposed names include three district and sessions judges and one additional sessions judge. Prominent among them are District and Sessions Judges Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan, Azam Khan, Shahrukh Arjumand and Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar.
Other proposed names include Advocate Adnan Busharat, Advocate Syed Qamar Hussain Sabzwari, Advocate Umar Aslam, Inam Amin Minhas, Muhammad Usman Ghani, and Rashid Cheema. The list also features Advocate General Islamabad Ayaz Shaukat, Advocate Adnan Haider, Nudrat Bayan Majeed, Sultan Mazhar Sher Khan, Kashif Ali Malik, Daniyal Ijaz, Shahid Mahmood Khokhar, Babar Bilal, Muhammad Abdul Rafay, and Hafizullah Yaqoob.
The CVs and related documents of all proposed candidates have been emailed to the Judicial Commission.

The meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan, chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, is scheduled for January 17. The meeting will discuss the appointment of additional judges for the Islamabad High Court and the Balochistan High Court.
