ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has announced the establishment of special courts in Islamabad to address the issues of overseas Pakistanis.

Speaking at a convention for overseas Pakistanis in Islamabad, he said that more than 10 million Pakistanis live in different countries around the world.

He stated that special courts have been set up in Islamabad to solve the problems of overseas Pakistanis, and efforts are underway to establish similar courts in Punjab and Balochistan.

The Prime Minister said that overseas Pakistanis have earned respect through their hard work and dedication, calling them the pride of the nation and Pakistan’s ambassadors.

Shehbaz Sharif also praised Army Chief General Asim Munir, saying that Pakistan’s defense is strong and no one can harm the country. He noted that terrorism had been eliminated from Pakistan by 2018, but past mistakes allowed it to return in some areas.

The Federal Board of Revenue will treat overseas Pakistanis as filers for banking transactions. Additionally, NAVTTC will offer courses to train the children of overseas Pakistanis in basic skills.

He further said that video link facilities will be provided for recording evidence in all missions, and e-filing for cases will be available within 60 days.

Orders have been given to prepare a feasibility study for an international airport in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. Every year, 15 civil awards will be given to overseas Pakistanis who send the most foreign exchange to Pakistan.
