PSL 10: PCB introduces Urdu commentary for first time alongside English

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2025 will feature commentary for its 34 matches in both English and Pakistan’s national language, Urdu.

This is the first time in PSL history that Urdu commentary will be included. The commentary panel will have well-known former cricketers from around the world.

The addition of Urdu commentary in HBL PSL 10 is being seen as a positive step for the public. The Urdu commentary team includes popular sports commentator Tariq Saeed, Ali Younis, Aqeel Samar, former women’s cricketer Marina Iqbal, and former opener Salman Butt.

English commentary panel will also feature global stars: 

For the English commentary, former England Test captain Sir Alastair Cook will join the PSL panel for the first time. Australia’s former women’s cricketer Lisa Sthalekar will also make her PSL commentary debut.

Pakistan’s former captains Ramiz Raja, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Aamer Sohail will also be part of the panel, sharing their experience and analysis with fans.


Other notable names in the PSL 10 commentary panel include Bazid Khan, Urooj Mumtaz, Athar Ali Khan, Martin Guptill from New Zealand, Mark Nicholas and Dominic Cork from England, JP Duminy from South Africa, and Mike Haysman from Australia.

During PSL 10, Erin Holland from Australia and Zainab Abbas will serve as presenters. The PCB has also announced the introduction of new match official technology to improve transparency and assist umpires in decision-making.

This technology will help with no-ball calls, DRS (Decision Review System), live umpire communication, and replays from different angles. It will also allow viewers to see the match innings time directly.

The PSL 10 matches will take place from April 11 to May 18, 2025, in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan. The official schedule and team squads are expected to be announced soon.
