PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has decided to conduct exams for teachers and students.
According to the education department, random tests will be taken in 2,200 schools during the exams. The exams will be for students in grades 3, 5, and 8. The tests will cover subjects like English, Urdu, Mathematics, and General Science.
For the exams, 50 percent of the students will be boys and 50 percent will be girls. The exams will take place from March 17 to March 19. A total of 6,000 trained teachers will help conduct the tests. The results of these tests will be used to make decisions about improving education and bringing reforms.

The education department says the exams will cost 150 million rupees. The results of this year’s exams will be compared with last year’s exam results. After the exams, decisions will be made about changes to the curriculum or teacher training.
In other news, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has postponed the annual matric and intermediate exams due to Ramadan.
The provincial government has directed all education boards to delay the matric exams. Instructions have been issued to hold these exams in April after Ramadan.
A spokesperson from the Peshawar Education Board said the exams will take place after the month of Ramadan. The purpose of postponing the exams is to provide convenience to students during Ramadan.
It should be noted that the annual matric exams in the province were scheduled for March 5. However, after the delay, the matric annual exams will now start on April 8.
