PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has banned toy guns and firecrackers in Peshawar under Section 144.
According to a private TV report, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Sarmad Saleem Akram said the ban on toy weapons and firecrackers is in place to maintain peace and order.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that anyone breaking the ban will face action under Section 188.
The district administration has also decided to take strict action against those selling toy weapons during Eid-ul-Fitr.
The administration said the ban is a step to end the toy gun culture for the sake of national security.
On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has planned exams for teachers and students.

The education department says random tests will happen in 2,200 schools. These exams are for students in grades 3, 5, and 8, covering English, Urdu, Mathematics, and General Science.
Half of the students taking the exams will be boys, and half will be girls. The exams will run from March 17 to March 19. About 6,000 trained teachers will assist with the testing. The results will help guide decisions on improving education and making reforms.
The department estimates the exams will cost 150 million rupees. This year’s results will be compared to last year’s. After the exams, the department will decide on updates to the curriculum or teacher training.
