Balochistan to provide pink scooty, e-bike scheme for students and women

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced a new scheme to provide scooters and electric bikes to students, youth, and working women in the province, the “Pink Scooty and Electric Bikes Scheme” aims to make daily travel easier for them.

As per the media report, Under this plan, the government will give subsidized scooters to students and working women, a policy will be introduced to ensure the smooth distribution of these vehicles, helping them become more independent.

University, college, and secondary school students, along with working women, will get scooters. At a meeting held at the Chief Minister Secretariat, CM Bugti decided that female students would receive pink scooters, while male students would get electric bikes.

The scheme will help solve transport problems. It will also be available to the general public through bank financing. The details of this process are being finalized. CM Bugti said the goal is to improve mobility and independence for women and youth.

He assured that the government is committed to supporting women’s development in all fields. The scheme will benefit both students and working women.

A special committee, led by the Secretary of Finance, will decide the rules for distributing the scooters and bikes. CM Bugti stressed that this scheme is not just for students but will also be open to the public on easy terms.

To keep the program running, financial support will be arranged through bank financing with the help of the State Bank of Pakistan. The scheme will officially launch on International Women’s Day, highlighting the government’s efforts to support women’s independence.

CM Bugti said he wants to help women in Balochistan become more self-reliant. Government officials praised this initiative and promised to implement it quickly, ensuring better transport facilities for students and working women.
