ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Market Committee has released an updated price list for vegetables, fruits, and other essential food items, effective Friday, February 14, 2025. The list reflects the current market rates as of today.
The revised list features everyday kitchen essentials such as tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger.
In comparison to last month, prices for tomatoes, cabbage, and cauliflower have seen a significant decline, providing much-needed relief to consumers. Furthermore, carrots, potatoes, and ginger are now being sold at more affordable prices, alleviating financial pressure on households.
The price list is updated daily to ensure transparency and fair pricing. Consumers are advised to review the official rates before purchasing to avoid overpaying. Any cases of overcharging or irregularities should be reported to the relevant authorities for prompt action.
At Islamabad’s fruit and vegetable market (Sabzi Mandi), produce from across Pakistan is available for sale. Along with supplies from various cities in Punjab, fruits and vegetables from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also brought here. Farmers from remote areas of Balochistan and Sindh send their goods to the capital for sale. Seasonal produce from Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as items from neighboring countries like Iran and Afghanistan, can also be found. Shopkeepers in Islamabad frequently visit the market to purchase goods, while numerous vendors from surrounding areas come to buy in bulk.
Local residents prefer shopping at the fruit and vegetable market over local markets or sectors due to the availability of fresh produce at reasonable prices. The administration issues a daily price list to maintain consistent and fair pricing across the city.

The Islamabad Market Committee has released the updated price list for fruits, effective Friday, February 14, 2025.
Kinnow, which has been in season since last month and will remain available for a few more weeks, experienced a price drop of over PKR 50 per dozen last week. However, prices have remained stable today. Grade A Kinnow is currently priced between PKR 286 and 300 per dozen, while Grade B Kinnow is being sold for PKR 154-165 per dozen. While some superstores and shopping malls sell kinnow by weight (per kilogram), smaller or lower-quality kinnows are available at discounted rates.
The updated price list shows that most fruit prices in the market are steady, with only slight fluctuations observed for a few items. Bananas, which had seen a gradual price increase over the past week with an average rise of PKR 5 to 10 per dozen daily, have now stabilized. The list features a variety of seasonal fruits, including bananas, oranges, apples, guavas, grapes, and strawberries, which have recently become available due to the change in season. Strawberries are currently priced at a maximum of PKR 510, down from yesterday’s price of PKR 515. Other fresh produce currently available in the market is also included in the list.
