West Indies test squad arrives in Pakistan ahead of Jan 17 series in Multan

ISLAMABAD: The West Indies Test squad has arrived in Pakistan, which was shifted to a local hotel under tight security.

The West Indies cricket team is using a private airline to reach Islamabad from Dubai. The West Indies Test squad will participate in a 2-Test series, the first of which will start on January 17 and the second on January 25.

Both Test matches between Pakistan and the West Indies will be held at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

A 3-day warm-up match will be played between Pakistan Shaheens and the West Indies at the Islamabad Club from January 10.

It may be recalled that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the Pakistan Shaheens squad to play a three-day warm-up match against the West Indies.

The board said in a statement that the three-day warm-up against the West Indies will be played at the Islamabad Club from January 10, where opener Imam-ul-Haq will lead the Shaheens.

The West Indies Test squad arrived in Islamabad on the morning of January 6, while the Pakistan Shaheens squad will also gather on the same day. The Shaheens will start their training at the Islamabad Club on January 7, while the West Indies team will hold two training sessions on January 8 and 9.

The 2-Test series between Pakistan and the West Indies is starting in Multan from January 17. Both matches of the ICC World Test Championship will be played in Multan.

The Test squad also includes Musa Khan, who has taken 38 wickets in 5 matches of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy this season. The match will start at 9:30 am Pakistan time.

Pakistan Shaheen squad:

Imam-ul-Haq (captain), Ahmed Bashir, Ahmed Safi Abdullah, Haseebullah, Hussain Talat, Ali Zaryab, Kashif Ali, Muhammad Hurairah, Muhammad Ramiz Jr., Muhammad Suleman, Musa Khan, Umair Bin Yousuf, Rohail Nazir, and Saad Khan.

West Indies Test squad:

Kraig Brathwaite (captain), Alec Athanase, Casey Carty,  Justin Graves, Qaim Hodge, Tevin Amlach, Joshua da Silva, Amir Jango, Mikael Lewis, Gudakesh Moti, Anderson Phillip, Kemar Roach, Jaden Sale, Kevin Sinclair, and Jomal Warrick.
