Karachi board reduces scrutiny fee by 50% for intermediate students

KARACHI: The Higher Secondary Education Board Karachi has announced important steps in view of the concerns of students regarding the Intermediate results. The board has reduced the scrutiny fee by 50 percent to Rs. 500 per paper for students dissatisfied with the results, which was earlier Rs. 1,000.

As per the report, the last date for submitting the scrutiny form has been set as February 3, 2025, while students can download the form and fee voucher from the Interboard website. For the convenience of students, special counters have been set up in the Interboard office where scrutiny forms can be submitted.

According to the board’s announcement, these steps have been taken with students’ convenience in mind to make the scrutiny process faster and more transparent.

Following concerns raised by students, parents, and political parties regarding the Intermediate examinations 2024 results, Chairman Interboard Karachi, Syed Sharaf Ali Shah, has announced the formation of an inquiry committee.

The Chairman assumed charge of his post on January 3, 2025, and decided to set up an inquiry committee during a meeting with Secretary of Universities and Boards Department, Muhammad Abbas Baloch.

The aim of the inquiry committee is to scrutinize the results, ensure transparency, and restore the confidence of students. The committee will review complaints within a month and suggest solutions to the problems. Chairman Syed Sharaf Ali Shah clarified that this committee will work impartially and will review all aspects to further standardize the examination process.

The Chairman Interboard assured students that all possible steps will be taken to address their concerns. He requested students and parents to submit their concerns and suggestions directly to the Interboard so that the committee can review them as well.

The Chairman Interboard stated that students dissatisfied with their results should submit their scrutiny forms to the relevant bank booth as soon as possible to ensure timely resolution of their issues.
