What Is the 190-Million-Pound Scandal?
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) launched an investigation against the former prime minister, his wife, and others for allegedly acquiring hundreds of kanals of land in the name of the Al-Qadir University Trust. The process is claimed to have caused a loss of 190 million pounds to the national exchequer.
According to the allegations, the former prime minister and other accused allegedly adjusted Rs50 billion. This amount was transferred to the Government of Pakistan by the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA).
The PTI chief registered the trust for the Al-Qadir University project on December 26, 2019.
