Bangladesh secured a thrilling seven-run victory over the West Indies in the first T20I of the series at Arnos Vale Ground. This was West Indies’ first international match in St. Vincent in ten years, and it ended in a dramatic way.

Bangladesh made 147/6 in their 20 overs, with Soumya Sarkar scoring 43 runs from 34 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Akeal Hosein and Obed McCoy each took two wickets for the West Indies, with Hosein giving up only 13 runs in his four overs.

West Indies had a slow start, but captain Rovman Powell brought them back into the game by scoring a powerful 60 runs off 35 balls, including four sixes and five fours. Despite his contribution, West Indies were all out for 140 in 19.4 overs.

The match ended in a dramatic and sensational final over, with Hasan Mahmud defending nine runs. He got Powell out caught behind and then bowled out Alzarri Joseph to win the match.

This was Bangladesh’s first victory over the West Indies in six years in the T20I format.
