ISLAMABAD : A six-member Nigerian gang involved in supplying drugs to educational institutions in Islamabad has been arrested.
According to officials from the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), during an operation in Islamabad, a Nigerian national was initially arrested, and during interrogation, he revealed the involvement of his foreign associates.
Officials stated that, based on the suspect’s information, raids were conducted in Sector G-13, where five more Nigerian nationals were apprehended near a hotel. During a search of the suspects’ flat, 135 grams of cocaine and 3.2 kilograms of ice were recovered.
The authorities confirmed that the suspects admitted to supplying drugs to students in hostels and educational institutions.

ANF officials also noted that this year, a significant number of foreign nationals arrested for drug smuggling in Pakistan have come from African countries, and smugglers continue to use new and increasingly dangerous methods to traffic drugs.
The authorities added that ANF’s operations against drug trafficking in educational institutions will continue.
