ISLAMABAD : The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has taken action against online content deemed harmful, blocking nearly one million websites spreading blasphemous and immoral material.

The PTA revealed that there are 20 million daily attempts to access immoral websites within Pakistan. While these sites are blocked at the international gateway, internet users often circumvent these restrictions by using VPNs.

The authority stated that the websites involved in spreading prohibited content are identified and blocked based on information provided by government departments and concerned citizens.
