RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Railways has introduced the “Summer Vacation Special Train” to cater to the needs of the many travelers this summer.
The Summer Vacation train is scheduled to operate between Karachi and Rawalpindi from July 5 to July 30, 2024.
The Ministry of Railways stated that all preparations for the train’s launch have been completed under the guidance of Secretary of Railways Syed Mazhar Ali Shah.
The initiative seeks to alleviate passengers’ concerns and ensure a more pleasant travel experience. The special train (50-Dn) will leave Karachi at 8:45 pm and arrive in Rawalpindi the next morning at 10:00 pm. Departing from Rawalpindi at 12:30 pm, it will reach Karachi Cantt at 2:15 pm the following day.
During its route, the train will make stops at stations such as Jhelum, Lalamusa, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Raiwind, Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Rohri, and Hyderabad.
The train features two AC standard coaches, two AC business coaches, five economy class coaches, one brake van, and one power plant.
The introduction of the new train will ease some of the strain on the already strained transport system and provide a more convenient transportation option for families and travelers.
As per announcement, the special summer vacation train from Lahore will be augmented with six extra economy-class coaches.
