KARACHI: After the federal government, the Sindh government also announced holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha 2024, as the nation gears up for the Muslim festival.
The Sindh government has issued a holiday notification for Eid-ul-Adha. According to the notification, there will be holidays from Monday, June 17, to Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in the subordinate institutions of the provincial government.
In Pakistan, Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated with religious devotion and respect on Monday, June 17. On this occasion, the federal government has also announced holidays ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
A few days ago, the federal government announced three holidays for Eid-ul-Adha, and the cabinet division issued a notification.
As per the federal government notification, there will be holidays from June 17 to 19 for Eid-ul-Adha. Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16, are already public holidays.
It should be noted the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Friday, June 7, announced that it sighted the Zilhaj moon, and Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on June 17.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has announced a 25% reduction in fares as a special package for commuters on the occasion of Eid.
The discount will be available on all types of trains and classes, with the exception of Eid special trains.
