New tax slabs announced: Detailed chart reveals changes in tax rates for salaries in 2024-25

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government of Pakistan has introduced a new tax structure for the fiscal year 2024-25, which shows increases in the tax rates for various salary brackets.

No Change for Low-Income Earners: Salaries up to Rs. 50,000 per month remain untaxed. In the budget for 2024-25, for those earning between Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 200,000 per month, the tax ratio is increased gradually, starting from an additional Rs. 250 for the Rs. 60,000 bracket up to Rs. 5,416 for the Rs. 200,000 group.

Starting from July 1, 2024, tax ratios are increased for those earning above Rs. 200,000 per month.

For example , Those earning Rs. 300,000 will pay Rs. 9,583 more (monthly), while salaries of Rs. 1,000,000 face an increase of Rs. 22,500.
