ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has given his nod to Rubina Khalid’s appointment as the Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) .
Additionally, Dr. Amjad Saqib’s resignation from the BISP chairpersonship has been accepted by the president.
According to an announcement from the President House on Wednesday, Zardari sanctioned Khalid’s appointment in accordance with Section 5(3) of the Benazir Income Support Programme Act 2010.
Last week, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari nominated Rubina Khalid for the position during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
This meeting saw the presentation of PPP’s nominees for Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by Bilawal, with Rubina Khalid being a former PPP senator from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
