LAHORE: The Governor of Punjab has accepted the resignation of Michael A Thompson, the principal of Lahore’s Aitchison College. Amina Kamran has been appointed by the board members to assume the role of acting principal.
Thompson submitted his resignation on March 26, citing nepotism and political interference as the driving factors for his departure. The Australian educator is reported to have departed from Pakistan.
Reports indicate that the appointment of Amina Kamran as acting principal has received approval from the Board of Governors of Aitchison College.
The Board has also sanctioned a policy regarding fee waivers, under certain conditions. It vehemently opposes a 100 percent fee waiver and the blanket granting of fee waivers to all students.
