LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s determined initiative has ensured rapid progress in the implementation of the “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” program.
CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif presided over a meeting where principal approval was granted to three models under the “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” program.
Maryam Nawaz also directed that no service charges should be received from those acquiring a loan to obtain a plot.
Punjab CM will launch the “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” program on 14th August 2024, Model houses have been constructed under a pilot program titled “Apni Chat Apna Ghar.”
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed that a living room be included in the plans for model houses. She also instructed the introduction of a toll-free number to facilitate the public.
Following Maryam’s direction, PITB will prepare a special portal under the “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” program. Aspirants of the “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” program can submit their applications online from the comfort of their homes.
Secretary Housing Captain (Retd) Asad Ullah Khan, while giving a detailed briefing on the “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” program, informed that forms for the program can be obtained from the offices of Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners.
Plot owners of 1 to 5 marlas can obtain interest-free loans for constructing a house.
Following the direction of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, house owners will be provided the facility to pay their loans in soft installments. It was informed during the briefing that PC-1 for building a ground on state land along with triple-storey apartments has been approved, and a feasibility study will be conducted soon.
3 and 5 marla houses will be allocated to the Punjab Housing & Town Planning (PHATA) allottees in private schemes. The PHATA allottees will repay house loans over five years upon receiving a house in the private scheme.
It was further informed in the briefing that the Punjab government will provide a subsidy to reduce the burden of construction costs for a house in the private scheme.
Seventy thousand plot owners can obtain a loan in any city or village. Interest-free loans will be granted to the owners of 5 marla plots for the construction of a house.
It should be noted Punjab government will cover the service charges on loans granted through microfinance institutions.
