KARACHI: The Vigilance Department of the Pakistan Airports Authority has made significant decisions to tighten security at Karachi Airport, under the new measures, additional requirements have been imposed on individuals coming to pick up or see off passengers at the airport.
According to media reports, it is now mandatory for those coming to pick up or drop off passengers at Karachi Airport to carry a copy of the ticket.
The Vigilance Department has also made it obligatory to present the ticket when inspected by security agencies at the airport entrance.
As per the report, up to four individuals are allowed to accompany one passenger to the airport.
However, if they do not have a copy of the ticket, they will not be permitted to enter the airport.
Additionally, sources indicate that under the new conditions, individuals coming to receive passengers must also carry an identity card to gain entry into the airport. These measures have been implemented in response to the recent terrorist attack near Karachi Airport.

According to Airports Authority sources, the Vigilance Department of the Pakistan Airports Authority has prepared this plan, and the new policy will be enforced shortly.
Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar announced that three terrorists involved in the attack on Chinese citizens near Karachi Airport have been arrested.
During a press conference in Karachi, Home Minister Lanjar stated that two Chinese citizens lost their lives in the attack. Authorities recovered the chassis and number plate of a vehicle from the explosion site, and the attacker, Shah Fahd, was identified through fingerprints.
Lanjar further revealed that the vehicle used in the attack was purchased in Karachi, and the payment was made through a private bank in Hub.
