ISLAMABAD: Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emphasized on Thursday the importance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, citing the substantial debt owed by the Centre to the province.
Addressing the media, Khan stated, “It was imperative for him to present this demand to the incumbent occupying the prime minister’s position.”
He noted that Gandapur’s meeting with Shehbaz was sanctioned by PTI’s founder chairman, Imran Khan, highlighting the necessity of fostering a cooperative relationship to secure the release of funds owed to the provincial government by the Centre.
Senior PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat accused Attaullah Tarar of initiating his tenure by falsely claiming that PTI sought to push Pakistan into default, a notion vehemently refuted by PTI and its chairman.
Marwat expressed disappointment over Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s decision to assess onion prices via helicopter, citing the excessive cost associated with such a measure.
