FAISLABAD: An application has been filed to register a case against Dr. Affan Qaiser, who claimed to turn watermelons red by inoculating them on social media, and a notice of Rs. 10 crore has also been issued.
According to a media report, Rana Amir Javed, president of Anjuman Tajran Vegetable Market (Shaheen Group) Ghulam Muhammadabad in Faisalabad, has applied for the registration of the case in Ghulam Muhammadabad police station.
While the notice sent by Rana Amir Javed to Dr. Affan Qaiser has demanded an apology from him, it states that a claim of 10 crore rupees will be filed if he does not apologize.
The notice says that due to Dr. Affan Qaiser’s false statement, traders and farmers have suffered huge losses in all the markets of Pakistan, and panic spread among the people. Pakistan became infamous all over the world.
This claim of Dr. Affan Qaiser has also been declared false by the Punjab Food Department. No such incident happened anywhere.
The notice said that food authority teams have checked watermelons sold in various districts’ markets, and no such incident has been reported so far.
