Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court has granted relief to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur by suspending the Election Commission’s notice.
According to details, the Peshawar High Court heard a petition filed against the Election Commission’s notice issued to the Chief Minister. The two-member bench, consisting of Justice S. M. Attique Shah and Muhammad Faheem Wali , heard the case.
The court accepted Ali Amin Gandapur’s petition and suspended the Election Commission’s notice dated November 20. The court also issued a notice to the Election Commission.
Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer, Bashir Khan Wazir Advocate, stated in court that the Election Commission had issued a notice regarding the Chief Minister’s assets. He further mentioned that a notice was previously issued, which had been suspended by the court.
Justice S. M. Attique Shah remarked that if the court had already suspended the notice, how could the Election Commission issue it again? He suggested that a contempt of court petition should have been filed.
