ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has opted to establish the nation’s largest Information Technology Park (IT Park) in collaboration with the private sector.
Following the nod from the CDA Board, a 3.3-acre plot in Sector G-10 Islamabad has been earmarked for the IT Park, marking it as a distinctive endeavor.
This plot will encompass a total covered area spanning 100,000 square feet, capable of accommodating 5,000 to 6,000 freelancers concurrently. The IT Park is designed to provide workspace for freelancers and startups, software houses, a library, a research center, conference rooms, and an area for showcasing IT products.
Private IT firms will finance the construction of the IT Park and will also lease office space within it.
Nevertheless, the ownership of the IT Park will be transferred to the CDA. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed concrete actions to bolster the nation’s IT exports.
