21 Killed, 37 Injured in KP Heavy Rains, Says PDMA

PESHAWAR: At least 21 individuals lost their lives and 37 were reportedly wounded as a result of heavy rainfall over the past 48 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to DG Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Muhammad Qaiser Khan on Sunday.

He further mentioned that 30 homes were completely demolished, with 97 others suffering partial damage.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has instructed the provision of relief and compensation checks to affected families, as well as the reopening of blocked roads and the provision of assistance to those stranded due to the rains and landslides.

Additionally, the chief minister has directed PDMA, Rescue 1122, and district administrations to remain vigilant and assist the public.

The DG PDMA stated that six tourists were rescued in Malam Jabba, with instructions issued to all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) accordingly. He also noted reports of livestock losses in addition to human casualties.
