MIANWALI: Seven individuals, among them the renowned Saraiki singer Sharafat Ali Tari Khelvi, tragically lost their lives late at night near Van Bachharan Pakka Ghanjaira in Mianwali, Punjab.
The accident unfolded as the singer’s car, traveling at excessive speed, careened into a canal.
The ill-fated vehicle spiraled out of control, ultimately plunging into the canal. The victims of this unfortunate incident were musicians returning from a music gathering.
Prompt action by local rescue teams facilitated the recovery of the submerged vehicle and the retrieval of all seven bodies.
In a gesture of assistance to the mourning families, local law enforcement found a bag containing money in the singer’s vehicle.
The police subsequently handed over the bag to the deceased’s relatives.
Meanwhile, the police have initiated an inquiry into the incident.
