LAHORE: Senior Pakistani actor Khalid Butt passed away on Thursday in Lahore after a prolonged illness. He was 75 years old.
Butt was suffering from complications arising from kidney and liver diseases. He was admitted to a private hospital in Lahore on Wednesday, and his condition deteriorated overnight.
According to family sources, Butt’s funeral will be held on Friday after the Asr prayer.
Butt began his career in the 1970s and appeared in numerous Urdu and Punjabi films and television dramas. He was known for his versatility and ability to portray a wide range of characters.
Butt was awarded the Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan in 2017 for his contributions to the arts.
