ISLAMABAD: Khawaja Asif, a central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has called for a public hearing of the commission investigating the 2017 Faizabad sit-in.
Asif, the former defense minister, confirmed his appearance before the Faizabad sit-in probe commission today, where he provided “incomplete” testimony that will be finalized soon.
Expressing his opinion, Asif suggested that the commission should hold open hearings and permit media coverage to unveil the true factors contributing to the country’s decline over the past 75 years.
The seasoned politician expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of conclusive outcomes from numerous commissions established to investigate significant historical events.
Asif further appealed to all stakeholders to exhibit courage in facing the consequences and rectifying mistakes from the past.
