ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has unveiled the schedule for the upcoming general elections.
As per the ECP’s announcement, the general elections are slated to take place in the final week of January.
The statement outlined that the initial list of constituencies will be made public on September 27, 2023, with the final list set to be released on November 30.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that following a review of objections and suggestions regarding the constituencies, the definitive list will be issued on November 30. The general elections are scheduled to occur 54 days after the final list is released.
It’s worth noting that various political parties had been urging the caretaker government and the Election Commission to conduct early and transparent general elections in the country. In response, the caretaker government emphasized that the responsibility for scheduling the elections lies with the Election Commission, which would announce the election date.
