ISLAMABAD: In anticipation of Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day festivities, the Islamabad Capital Police (Traffic Division) has orchestrated a specialized traffic arrangement to guarantee seamless traffic flow and safety measures across the metropolis.

Under the directives of the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer, a dedicated traffic strategy has been formulated.

This comprehensive strategy entails the deployment of a substantial workforce, comprising 550 officers and personnel.

These officers are earmarked for specific duties, as part of a concerted effort by the police to curtail traffic infringements and prevent unauthorized entry into the federal capital.

Furthermore, the responsibilities have been distributed among a Superintendent of Police (SP), four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and 22 inspectors.

To ensure order and security on the roadways during the celebrations on the 13th and 14th of August, specialized squads have been constituted.

These squads will be strategically positioned at crucial junctures throughout the city and furnished with roadblocks.

The primary focus of this collective force is to clamp down on violations such as one-wheeling on motorcycles, vehicles with obscured windows, irresponsible driving, and those fitted with disruptive silencers.

Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer, the Chief Traffic Officer, has underscored the paramount importance of upholding traffic regulations during this period.

Specifically, he has stressed the necessity of stringent measures against motorcyclists engaging in one-wheeling and individuals who unlawfully modify their vehicles.

These directives extend not solely to riders but also to mechanics who undertake motorcycle alterations contrary to legal stipulations.

Dr. Mustafa Tanveer has also issued a plea to parents, urging them to prohibit their children from operating one-wheeled motorcycles.

Legal actions will be initiated against violators, and their motorcycles will be confiscated at police stations, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

To ensure the populace remains well-informed about the traffic scenario, ICTP Radio FM 92.4 will furnish real-time updates concerning road conditions.

This initiative is aimed at fostering awareness and facilitating smoother vehicular movement during the commemorative festivities.

As the nation readies itself to observe its Independence Day on Monday, the meticulous traffic blueprint devised by the Islamabad Capital Police underscores its unwavering dedication to ensuring citizen safety and upholding order on the city’s thoroughfares.
