BALOCHISTAN: Torrential rains have unleashed havoc in Balochistan, claiming the lives of six individuals while injuring thirteen others in various incidents. The region is grappling with a serious flood situation, as relentless downpours have inundated cities across the province.

Disturbing reports indicate that Basima and nearby areas of Patak have suffered extensively, with floodwaters surging into urban regions, causing significant damage to houses, shops, and hotels, leading to their collapse. Moreover, ready crops in low-lying areas have been decimated due to the continuous rainfall.

In the Awaran areas, the local river’s water level escalated dramatically following the heavy rains, raising concerns about the potential breach of a safety dam, further exacerbating the flood threat.

Meanwhile, Sindh province also experienced its share of rainfall’s wrath. The Kir Thar mountain ranges in Dadu city witnessed heavy downpours, while Mehar and surrounding regions were submerged due to flooding in low-lying areas. Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Khairpur, Kot Diji, Nowshehro Feroze, and Padaidan in Sindh were not spared from the relentless rainfall.

It’s noteworthy that torrential rains, cloudbursts, and melting glaciers have caused widespread flooding across the regions of Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and now Balochistan, leading to loss of life, destruction of property, and disruptions in essential services.

In the picturesque Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir, the Nala Tahjian witnessed an alarming flood relay that swept away four houses, including a mosque, severely impacting electricity and internet services in the area.

As the region battles these calamitous weather conditions, authorities and relief agencies are on high alert to provide assistance to those affected and mitigate further damages caused by the ongoing rains.
