The Punjab Higher Education Department (PHED) has announced the postponement of ninth-class board exams in Punjab, which were originally scheduled for May 11th and 12th, citing the current unrest in the country.

The PHED has also confirmed that all exams across the province, conducted by nine different boards, have been postponed, with a new date set to be announced later.

Educational Institutions Closed for Two More Days

The PHED has further declared that all colleges and universities in the province will remain closed for an additional two days, until May 12th. However, medical colleges will remain open.

The decision to postpone the exams and close educational institutions comes after nationwide unrest broke out following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, which has resulted in multiple fatalities and prompted the army’s deployment in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
