Punjab CM launches insulin card for diabetic children:

Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a new program, “CM Insulin for Diabetes,” to support children suffering from Type-I congenital diabetes. She personally launched the ‘CM Insulin Card’ and visited the homes of young patients to deliver the cards.

The Chief Minister, along with Pakistan Post riders, visited Sabzazar Q-Block and handed over an insulin card to Wasay Adnan. She also went to Jamil Town to deliver cards to Zainab Waheed and Zain Shahzad.

She provided insulin, glucometers, BSR strips, and needle boxes to all three children. She hugged Wasay’s grandmother and met other family members. Wasay, the youngest of three siblings, was born with diabetes. The CM also promised to send him a toy car and expressed kindness toward him and the other children.

She instructed health officials to arrange an eye check-up for Zain Shahzad. Locals warmly welcomed her, with many people watching from rooftops and girls throwing flower petals on her arrival. She also took selfies with children at their request.

Elderly women offered prayers for her health and success. Speaking to families, she said she understands the worries of parents and the struggles of children living with diabetes. She explained that the free insulin program was launched after hearing the concerns of parents who cannot afford treatment.

Punjab approves major reforms to improve Punjab’s traffic system:

On other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif led a high-level meeting on Monday to review and improve the traffic management system in the province. The government made several decisions to improve road safety and reduce traffic violations.

One key decision was to raise traffic violation fines by up to ten times. The government also decided to take legal action against parents who allow underage children to drive. Vehicles carrying unsafe loads, such as steel rods sticking out, will be seized immediately.

The meeting also approved action against one-wheeling and dangerous driving. These actions will now be treated as criminal offences. The chief minister also ordered work to remove traffic blockages on Bedian Road and other important roads in Lahore.

The traffic plan includes redesigning 372 busy traffic points across Punjab, including 77 in Lahore. To make the system more transparent, every traffic ticket will now include video or photo evidence. Digital screens will also be set up along roads to warn drivers in advance about traffic jams.
