The Punjab Assembly has approved a resolution to increase the age limit for government job appointments. During the same session, eight new bills were also introduced and handed over to the concerned committee, which will present its report within two months.
According to details, the resolution to increase the age limit was presented by MPA Amjad Ali Javed. Due to a delay in response from the concerned department, the resolution was passed through a vote in the Assembly.
The resolution stated that, like other provinces, administrative officers in Punjab (Provincial Management Service) are selected through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). Currently, the maximum age limit for these jobs is 30 years with three chances to apply. However, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, the age limit has been increased to 45 years and the number of attempts has been raised to five.
