KABUL: A significant meeting between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China took place in Kabul to improve trade relations, encourage investment, and start joint development projects. The meeting was hosted by Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, according to an official statement from the ministry.
A senior delegation from Pakistan attended the meeting, led by Muhammad Sadiq Khan, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kabul, Mr. Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani, was also part of the delegation.
China was represented by Yuxiao Yong, China’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, and Zhao Sheng, the Chinese Ambassador in Kabul.
Several important topics were discussed during the meeting. These included the establishment of joint industrial parks in Afghanistan, creation of special economic zones, development of export processing centers, organizing trilateral trade exhibitions, setting up support centers for small and medium-sized businesses, and making banking cooperation easier between the three countries.

In his opening speech, Alhaj Azizi welcomed the delegations from Pakistan and China and stressed the importance of economic cooperation. He said, “The policy of the Islamic Emirate is based on economic development. We welcome foreign investment based on mutual interests and take steps to implement it accordingly.”
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Azizi officially invited the commerce ministers of Pakistan and China to visit Afghanistan to continue talks and further strengthen trilateral cooperation.
