ISLAMABAD: The government has taken a step to restore peace and stop human smuggling by setting up 9 new police stations under the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to a notification, 9 check posts previously working under FIA Immigration have been upgraded to police stations. Out of these, 7 are in Balochistan, and 2 are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Kurram Agency, two police stations named Gawri and Anzarkai have been established.
In Balochistan’s Chaghi district, police stations named Charban, Noor Wahab, Barbcha, and Rajay have been set up. In Zhob district, two police stations called Ghazni and Qamar Din Karez have been created.

The notification also states that a police station named Prag Koh has been established in Panjgur district.
On the other hand, it was revealed that 51 FIA employees were sacked from their jobs over the past 3 years due to alleged links with human smugglers. According to details provided to Parliament, 6 employees were dismissed in 2022, 4 in 2023, and 41 in 2024.
