RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Education Department has announced new school timings starting from April 2025, after the Eid holidays.
According to the notification, single-shift schools will start at 8:00 AM and end at 1:30 PM. On Fridays, these schools will close at 12:00 PM.
For double-shift schools, the morning shift will begin at 8:00 AM and end at 12:30 PM. On Fridays, the morning shift will end at 12:00 PM.
The second shift in double-shift schools will start at 1:00 PM and end at 5:30 PM. On Fridays, the second shift will begin at 2:30 PM. The notification states that these new timings will take effect from April 1 and will remain in place until October 15.

At the end in notification directs all Chief Executive Officers (District Education Authorities) in Punjab to ensure strict compliance with the new timings. Any negligence or non-compliance by CEOs (DEA) will be addressed according to the law.
Additionally, CEOs (DEA) are allowed to adjust the opening and closing times of boys’ and girls’ schools by a 15-minute gap on a case-by-case basis. The notification is signed by Khalid Nazir Wattoo (PAS), Secretary of School Education, Government of the Punjab.
