Karachi: The parliamentary committee of the Sindh Assembly has approved grace marks for first-year intermediate (11th class) students in Karachi for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
According to a report by a private TV channel, this decision was made in a meeting led by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah. A fact-finding committee, headed by Dr. Sarosh Lodhi, former Vice Chancellor of NED University, presented its report during the meeting. The report pointed out a continuous decline in Karachi’s educational results and unfair treatment of students.

He added that Karachi students have faced ongoing issues, with results dropping unusually over the past eight years. Compared to other educational boards, Karachi’s results have not been satisfactory.
MQM Assembly member Abdul Waseem said Karachi students are given lower marks while students from other Sindh boards receive higher marks, which is unfair. He demanded that the Assembly investigate the results of other boards as well.
The Education Minister said they have sought permission from the Sindh Assembly to take action against those responsible. He also announced that the results of government colleges will be checked individually to ensure transparency.
