Haval Increases Car Prices in Pakistan. Haval Pakistan, the country’s first locally assembled Hybrid Electric Vehicle, has raised its vehicle prices for the third time this year. The recent hike has increased prices by up to Rs5.5 lac.
The surge in prices is a result of the significant depreciation of the local currency against the US dollar and the imposition of heavy taxes on the car industry by the federal government. Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, the company behind Haval Pakistan, has increased the prices of all Haval H6 SUV variants by a considerable margin.
The Haval H6 1.5T has become costlier by Rs0.5 million, and its price has crossed Rs9.499 million. The Haval H6 2.0T will now be sold for Rs10.849 million, reflecting a price hike of Rs0.5 million. The top-of-the-line Haval H6 HEV has seen a hike of Rs0.45 million, pushing its price up to Rs12.149 million.
Earlier this year, Haval Pakistan increased prices for the first time, citing insufficient inventory and a production shutdown. The current surge in prices is due to currency depreciation and government taxes.
Despite the recent hikes, Haval Pakistan has expressed confidence in the popularity of its vehicles, particularly its Hybrid Electric Vehicle model, among local customers. The company believes that the demand for eco-friendly cars will continue to rise, and it plans to introduce more energy-efficient vehicles to the Pakistani market.
