Eid ul Fitr 2023 : Government Approves 5-Day Public Holidays

ISLAMABAD: As Ramadan enters its last Ashra, the federal government of Pakistan has approved a five-day holiday for one of the most highly anticipated holidays for Muslims worldwide. The holiday marks the end of the holy month of fasting, and was approved on the recommendation of the Cabinet Division.

EID UL FITR 2023: Eid holidays from April 21 to April 25

According to the Interior Ministry, the Eid holidays will be observed from April 21 to April 25. The regular notification of the Eid holidays will be issued by the Ministry of Interior itself.

EID UL FITR 2023: Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet on April 20

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet on April 20 to sight the crescent moon for Eid ul Fitr 2023. A statement from the religious affairs ministry said the meeting will be held at the religious affairs ministry in Islamabad and will be presided over by Ruet-e-Halal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. The statement further added that meetings of the zonal committees will be held at designated locations across the country.

Ramadan 2023 started on March 23 in Pakistan after much confusion during the meeting for the moonsighting.
