The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has indicated that Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to fall on March 31 this year. Experts have also predicted that the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible in most parts of Pakistan on the evening of March 30. The moon’s age is expected to be over 26 hours, meeting the required conditions.
If the moon is sighted on the 29th day of Ramadan (March 30), Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated from March 31 to April 2. However, if Ramadan completes 30 days, Eid will be observed from April 1 to April 4.
Since weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are already holidays for some government employees, this year’s Eid holidays are expected to last for at least five days, from March 29 to April 2.
It is important to note that the final decision regarding Eid holidays will be officially announced by the government.
