KARACHI: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has reduced electricity prices in a monthly adjustment for the entire country.
According to media reports, the price of electricity has been reduced by Rs. 3 per unit for Karachi consumers, while electricity has been reduced by Rs. 2.12 per unit for the rest of the country except Karachi.
Nepra has issued separate notifications for the reduction in electricity prices in the monthly adjustment.
The notification states that electricity consumers will get relief for the reduction in March bills, while electricity for K-Electric consumers has been reduced in the monthly adjustment for December 2024.
According to the notification, the electricity price has been reduced in the adjustment for January 2025 for the rest of the country.
In an other news, Government officers have been given a deadline of September 2025 to declare their assets.
A private TV channel, citing its sources, reported that a digital portal will be launched to declare assets as demanded by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Report say the Ministry of Finance and Cabinet Division have prepared a draft for declaring government officers’ assets, which will be submitted to the IMF.
An agreement has been reached with the IMF to avoid introducing a mini-budget to address the revenue shortfall. Instead, 157 billion rupees could be collected through a super tax.
