PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a major step for students in the province. He said the government will provide free laptops to students.
In a statement, Gandapur said KP will give the same percentage of laptops to students as Punjab is providing. He also urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to follow KP’s example and give free health cards to Punjab’s citizens.
The KP Chief Minister added that his government has already provided health cards to the entire population of the province. Now, they are offering life insurance facilities. He asked the Punjab government to do the same for its people.
Gandapur said despite tough conditions, KP increased its revenue by 55%. He suggested Punjab should also raise its revenue from 12% to 55%.

He further stated that the KP government has a surplus of 176 billion rupees in its treasury. KP is the only province that has met the International Monetary Fund (IMF) target.
Gandapur pointed out that Punjab was given a target of 300 billion rupees surplus by the IMF, but instead, it faced a deficit of 146 billion rupees.
The KP Chief Minister also shared that his government is helping 4,000 deserving girls get married by providing 200,000 rupees each.
Lastly, Gandapur challenged Punjab, saying its performance is not even close to 1% of KP’s achievements.
