LAHORE: Punjab will establish Pakistan’s first university focused on artificial intelligence, robotics, and machine learning, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced in Faisalabad.
As per the report, Speaking at the laptop scheme inauguration, she emphasized the need for students to stay competitive in modern fields.
The chief minister also shared details of a new loan scheme. Students can borrow up to Rs30 million to study, work part-time, or start their own businesses. Free land will also be provided to help them set up businesses.
She revealed that the current distribution of 30,000 laptops would rise to 50,000 next year as the provincial government plans to increase the budget.

Scholarships for third and fourth-year students will also be introduced, and the laptop scheme may expand to 100,000 devices for students scoring above 65% in public universities and colleges.
Maryam Nawaz joked about students using ChatGPT for research and stressed the importance of improving research in Pakistan.
On the other hand, the Punjab government has confirmed the presence of gold reserves in Attock.
Punjab Minerals Minister Sher Ali Gorchani says that the government has decided to hold an international auction to extract the gold reserves.
He said that the Punjab Chief Minister will be given a briefing on the gold reserves tomorrow. It took the Punjab government a year to confirm the gold reserves.
