ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education has announced a partnership with a US-based academy to introduce Khanmigo, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered tutor, in government middle schools in Islamabad.
According to a press release, the goal of this collaboration is to offer personalized learning experiences for students, including support for learning in Urdu.
The ministry also said that teacher training programs will be started to help teachers assist students in using the AI tutor properly.
Once the teachers are trained, students will be able to use the Khabwigo platform, where they can access learning tools and resources made for them.

The AI tutor will allow students to learn at their own pace, fill knowledge gaps, and reinforce concepts in an interactive way. This initiative aims to make learning in Islamabad more accessible, enjoyable, and effective.
With Khan Academy’s expertise and support from the Ministry, both students and teachers can expect a more innovative and inclusive learning environment. A ministry official explained that Khan Academy is a US-based organization founded by a Bangladeshi Muslim.
Its Pakistan office is working with the education ministry to offer free services in schools that have IT labs. The official noted that about 50% of schools in Islamabad are equipped with IT labs.
