Malala Yousafzai arrives in Pakistan for two-day women’s education conference

ISLAMABAD: Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, who lives in the UK, has arrived in Pakistan. She will attend a two-day education conference starting today in Islamabad. The Parliamentary Secretary for Education welcomed Malala Yousafzai.

According to media reports, Malala Yousafzai will speak about solutions to challenges related to women’s education at the conference.

The Education Minister of Kyrgyzstan has also arrived in Pakistan to attend the education conference to be held in Islamabad.

Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said regarding the education conference in Islamabad that the four Chief Ministers and Provincial Education Ministers will also attend the conference.

The Education Minister stated that the purpose of women’s education is now to create a better home, a better generation, and a better future.

According to Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, this conference is being organized under the name of the International Conference on Muslim Women: Challenges and Opportunities.

What is the purpose of the conference?

The theme of the summit is “Girls’ Education in Muslim Communities: Challenges and Opportunities.” The international conference is being organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training.

The event is expected to be attended by over 150 international dignitaries, including ministers, ambassadors, scholars, and educationists from 44 Muslim and friendly countries, as well as representatives of international organizations, including UNESCO, UNICEF, and the World Bank.

Speakers will share success stories in promoting education, which can help in considering innovative approaches to advance educational equity.

The conference will conclude with a formal signing ceremony of the Islamabad Declaration, which will outline the shared commitment of the Muslim community to empower girls through education, pave the way for comprehensive and sustainable education reforms, and ensure a bright future for generations to come.
