ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expelled senior member Salman Ahmed from the party for running a campaign against Imran Khan’s family.
Official notification issued by the party said that Ahmed had violated the party’s policies by posting anti-PTI content on social media.
Recently, Ahmed criticized Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, for her political activities during the November 26 protests, which led to criticism from PTI supporters.
The PTI notification said, “You are aware of those posts, including the posts against the family of Imran Khan, the Founder Chairman of PTI.” It continued, “Your basic membership is hereby terminated and you are expelled from the party with immediate effect. You are further asked never to show any affiliation with PTI.”

Salman Ahmed had been a supporter of PTI for a long time, often performing at the party’s events. In 2022, he was made the main person for Imran Khan regarding culture.
