The monitoring committee established to oversee the implementation of austerity measures has determined the office timings for Ramadan 2023. Starting from the first day of Ramadan, the work hours will be from 7:30am to 2:30pm, with an early dismissal at 12:30pm on Fridays. This schedule will also be followed during the summer season.
Although an official notification has not yet been released, the decision was made during the committee’s meeting in Islamabad on Monday, with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar presiding over the session.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has scheduled a meeting on March 22 for the sighting of the Ramadan moon. The meeting will be held in Provincial Auqaf Peshawar, chaired by Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad. If the moon is sighted on March 22, the first Roza will fall on March 23, but if not, Ramadan will commence on March 24. The final decision on the crescent sighting will be made by Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Abdul Khabir Azad, according to the ministry.
